That photo embodies both the reason I adore kittens (TOO cute) and the reason I only have adult cats (can't handle the zooming,climbing legs--even bare ones,tiny-enough-to-get-into-impossible-places phase). I think they have to be that cute so they don't get into trouble with their shenanigans. :)
