I remember...

this, from when I worked for a county shelter.. Well enough that, reading, tears come. Even though, now, euthansia is my own choice. (Only because, as a small rescue, my intake is limited).

Sometimes we need to read words like these, so all the lives that have been lost can be remembered by as many as possible. They deserve that.Thank you for posting this.It helps me to appreciate what I have even more than I already do.-tunafishmay

This is so sad. I am crying as I am typing this commentary.

All the more, we should drive home to importance to spay & neuter, responsible pet ownership!

I worked at the Humane Society for only a year. My heart could not take any more than that. And we were a kill-only-when-full shelter. Yes, I have stories and memories and tears. There's only so much I could do before my heart broke thinking about what we had to do to save as many as we could.

I knew my husband was done with his days at the shelter when I woke pinned to the bed. He then let me go, and spoke in his sleep, "Next dog, please." I woke him immediately.
