They just called and left a message to find out if Nick were OK since they had not seen him in two weeks. Nick is still caged up in the cage facility, on antibiotics for his abscess.
Nick loves the neighbors. I think he loves the neighbors more than he loves us. And I'm glad they worry about him, too. I'll give them a call.
Actually, today is Nick's last day in hospital confinement. Maybe we'll go over for a visit.

So is the abscess all healed, or not quite?
Entirely! I took the drain out on Sunday before I left town. Mark took care of his antibiotics. By Thursday the wound was entirely healed! There is still some thickening of scar tissue and swelling, but basically there is just a shaved patch. He's back in the house now, went out for his morning rounds, and is now snoozing on the cat tree at 9:00 am. He has porked on an extra pound or so.
