2005. Soon it will be in archives anyway.
Since so few people read this blog (about 50, bless you) I'll post my small happiness moments that reach out beyond our tiny community.
Neighborhood Cats published our cat shelter/trap box in their book this year.
And Pichou (a Fast Food Feral pictured in a spring flood) was a poster kitty for hurricane relief for Alley Cat Allies.
Both of these organizations pulled out the stops this year. Neighborhood Cats has done a ton of educational outreach, and Alley Cat Allies stepped out into the field, providing an organized rescue effort for feral cats in the Gulf (as well as the many pet cats that ventured into traps). This indicates a widening of the circle of animals that have "value" to us as a society. Fifteen years ago, would so many people have thought to care about the wild cats suffering from a natural disaster?
