Blogathon 2006

If I were to blog for SOS, would anyone else stay up late to keep me going during the Blogathon?

I'm wondering if my wireless would reach to the cat facility and I could blog from there? Because I would definitely need something to keep me up for 24 hours. Hey, the 29th is a Saturday. Perhaps a party?

(Post note: Uh oh. I think the 29th is my husband's family reunion? Now what have I gone and done?)

I can't promise you 24 hours, as the thought of that makes me want to weep (I'm a wuss about my sleep), but I could definitely be around until, say, 3am PDT. That would get you to sunrise.

If people just woke up now and then and sent comments and links that I could blog on, that would be great. I have to contact SOS to find out if they would be interested and would help spread the word.

Having just spent the day volunteering for the SOS clinic in Schuyler County, I would try to help you. I would sponsor you, certainly. I'm having houseguests for at least part of that weekend, so I'm not sure how available I'll be.

I'd be happy to comment while you blog! I'm thinking about doing the blogathon too, maybe for TEAM here or something like that.

Well, cool sb. I'll comment for you, and you comment for me, and maybe we can keep each other awake

And Judy, that's wonderful that you got to work with SOS today! Was it your first day or have you been doing it all along since we saw one another? I know you wanted to get into the spay/neuter side of things.

I barely think of stuff to blog about on a weekly basis - I can't imagine even trying to blog for 24 hours.

You may need to hand the blog keys (or point to someone else's blog for a team effort) to blog while you are at the reunion.

That's 48 posts- that's one per cat in the facility plus past cats... that's a lot of ideas right there.

We were supposed to have the reunion at Hickories Park in Owego, but it was devestated by the flood. If we have it here, my wireless would reach to the yard...

How many times would I have to answer the question "What is a blog?"

I just saw on the blogathon faq that the charities are supposed to have online donations. TEAM doesn't so that's a pain. I sent them email asking if there are any local orgs they partner with that I could blog for instead. Maybe they'll take the hint and add paypal or something to their site :)

Yes, SOS just told me they don't have online donations. I'll see if perhaps they could add a PayPal link to their site. Or Amazon.

It's too bad that you can't have a team doing the blogging!

Susan, Yesterday was the first day I've volunteered at Schuyler County SOS. I've only become available since my job was finished for the summer and Georgie was training another volunteer at the first summer clinic day, 2 weeks ago. I'm so happy I'm doing it. There is such a need in that county, as I know there is in yours. The county I live in has so many more resources, and although I'll continue to foster here, I'm glad to be helping out other folks and animals as well. And the clinic is only 20 minutes from my house, so that works, too.

I'll support you, but I have to tell you that you've given me the idea to do some katrina fundraising with this blogathon.
