(Note: I am not advocating one or the other. I just found it to be an interesting article. Here is some information on zinc phosphide)

there is no true secondary poisoning, except possibly in dogs and cats
and
In Michigan, wild turkeys, ring-necked pheasants, black and gray squirrels, Canada geese, and possibly white-tailed deer have died from zinc phosphide poisoning
How comforting :p
You hear older people comment about the state of the world, saying things like, "when I was young people didn't have learning disabilities", "when I was growing up people didn't talk about being depressed", "when I was younger I worked two jobs and was never tired", etc., and I always think to myself that current generations aren't necessarily lazy or weak, we're probably somewhat poisoned. I've dealt with fibromyalgia for the past decade and it's so depressing to me that my 80 year old mother-in-law is in less pain and has more energy than I do! There's something terribly wrong, it's just getting worse, and perhaps we need to stop sprinkling poison around willy-nilly while thinking there are no consequences.
Mother Nature has some solution for the vole problem, and I'd love to see politicians trying to figure out what it is, rather than just looking for the solution which is most convenient.
I have multiple chemical sensitivity. I am dealing with a body that has been poisoned just be the activities of daily living to the point where it is difficult to leave the house some days. Sometimes it's a pain reaction. Sometimes it's an I-can't-breathe or brain-fog reaction. Either way, I'm lucky the kitties don't set me off. I've been this way more than 10 years now. I've watched my problem go from "that doesn't happen to anyone" to "I know someone who." The number is growing. And it's a very scary thing.

There were pedophiles before there was the word and nice people didn't talk about "that stuff" Yes WE are poisoning ourselves and our environment but "consumption" killed a lot of people before we called it tuberculosis or cancer.
