Feral beagles?

On Long Island no less.

I would take the first few sensational paragraphs with a grain of "oh yeah, gotta make an interesting story into a horror story" of course.

At this time of year, and particulary these past weeks that have been so cold on Long Island, I have been so worried about my outdoor feral cats that I have a hard time sleeping at night. We have an insulated shelter that I put heating discs in at night, but my most faithful feral boy has disappeared as of last Sunday...I'm just heartbroken.
As for these beagles, they are simply starving, desperate and cold.Beagles bark loud, that's what they do. I'm praying someone can reach them before it's too late.
As for the abandoners/hunters of these animals--If there's any divine justice in this world, well...you know what I wish on them.

People are horrible. Those poor poor dogs. I hope someone can help them.

That's utterly heartbreaking.

One of the dogs Jazz and I rescued from the Herkimer shelter was a beagle/basset mix someone tossed out of a car and drove off, thinking they were hunting hounds and would be fine on their own. I'd love to punch them in the face.
